to cover the walls of its first flagship store in China, in the Kerry Center in Shanghai’s Jing’an district, covering an area of 180 square meters. The project was designed by BBA STUDIO based in Milan, founded by architects Barbara Ballabio and Andrea Burgio.

Great attention has been given to the search for sustainable materials, in line with the guiding principles of the brand, choosing natural materials with a circular life cycle capable of creating a unique and special environment.

The natural material MILLEFORMA Cotone, made of cotton linters and natural clays, was therefore selected to contribute to the creation of an engaging exhibition space that highlightings the beauty of the garments, evokes the visual identity of the Italian fashion brand and exudes an atmosphere of luxury and comfort.

To create the walls of the store designed by BBA STUDIO, after a fundamental research and development and prototyping, large white slabs of MILLEFORMA Cotone were produced ad hoc which were were subsequently cut and geometrically combined to recreate the iconic Missoni zig-zag motif, letting the beauty of the natural material stand out on the scene, in architecture as well as in fashion.
